Here at Taylor Turn we provide the best care possible for our four legged friends at competitive rates. All horses receive individual attention everyday. If there is a new development of an injury or illness you will receive a phone call to inform you. Nothing is ever done to your horse without prior notification. It is a point we make, to better educate ourselves to provide you and your horse with a better stable. We feed vet recommended oats and hay. The whole oats are 10% protein with no sugar and no dust. Oats are stored in moisture, animal/rodent safe containers. Grain is purchased every month to insure fresh quality oats year-round. A grass mix hay is fed with 20% alfalfa and no dust. Stored in a dry, ventilated, non-dusty, rodent free barn. The quality of pasture your horse receives is just as important as the quality of hay, oats, and water. Seeding every year replenishes the pasture of grasses that were eaten down the year before. Pastures are also rotated. Rotating pastures helps to maintain better grass year round and gives the grass good roots for healthier growing. In some parts of the year it is necessary to mow certain grasses to keep it tasty for the horses. Keeping our facility clean is also very important. Manure is picked up on a consistent basis to help eliminate odor and bugs. We don't let our horses stand in stalls with it- why let the horses out in the pasture stand in it. To insure healthy horses we ask that a health certificate or current record of shots be delivered before any horse/s are brought to the property. We take every measure possible to keep our horses happy and healthy. We also ask that you worm your horse on a regular basis (once every 2-3 months). The barn does have a regular vet and farrier if you wish to use them. Pro-rated board cannot be offered, due to others taking advantage of that option. We ask for board the first of the month for a monthly routine. If you do not move in on the first of the month board will be due the date you move in for the first month. To reserve a stall or pasture spot, the first months board will be due to hold it until arrival (it will count for the first month's board). Boarders are welcome to use the facility when they wish. We do not restrict visitation. Children are to be accompanied by an adult. Our facility offers a wash rack, heated tack and viewing room, outdoor arena fully lighted, indoor/covered arena, barn with concrete aisle, turn out paddock, pastures, and miles upon miles of trails and farmland to ride on. Walk across the road to South West Park that offers 140miles of trails and White River to ride on year round. Facility easily accessible from I-465 (Mann Rd. exit), HW 37 (5 miles west of), and HW 67 (5 miles east of), or Southport Rd. |
BOARDING |
Our pasture care is like no other. We pride ourselves in having happy horses and a clean facility. To insure happy horses, each horse is fed separately. A lot of work is done to keep the lot clean and safe. The horses receive their hay or grass after the oats. Hay will be thrown out into separate piles for each horse. There will be days that the horses cannot be turned out onto grass. On those days an extra feeding of hay will occur in the afternoon. Also, grass in not nutritious in the fall and winter more hay will be distributed. The horses cannot be out on pasture all the time to ensure pasture quality. Our lots are manicured regularly to insure safety. Manure will be picked up on a regular basis to cut down on smell, bugs, and to make it healthier. Any limbs, twigs, weeds, burrs, thorn bushes, will be cut down/picked up to eliminate injuries. Fences are checked and/or mended on a regular schedule. Cost: $252/per horse |

STALL BOARDING |
Taylor Turn stalls have been hand-built to perfection. We educated ourselves on what makes a great stall and barn. Lots of time, research, and the public's input were used in creating the stalls just for you and your horse's delight. Our stalls are 10ftx12ft in measure. All floors have been compacted with rock and agricultural-limestone for level, rut-free, and well draining use. Mats have been installed on top of the compacted material for extra comfort and durability. Bedding is supplied. Every stall has its own big window for the horse to stick his or her head out of. The windows are opened and shut according to the weather and specification of the owner. With sliding doors to the inside there are no floor obstacles to injure your horse. The door is whole as to discourage any stall kicking or fighting. Over 4ft up the walls, separating the aisle and stalls, are bars. A grill if you will. Spaced close enough that no horse can stick its head or hoof through. This lets the horses see what is going on and helps ventilation. Each stall has a water bucket, feed bucket, and hay bin. In the winter, heated water buckets are used. Each stall has its own plug in for water bucket, fan, etc. The barn has a concrete aisle with cross ties available. Stalls are cleaned once per day. Whether you are a competitor or just ride for pleasure we have a stall for you. Full care can be used in a variety of ways. From the show horse, whose coat is important not to be bleached out or nicked up. To the everyday horse, who gets pampered by his owner. We can set up a routine that best fits you and your horse. Routines can differ from horse to horse. You can choose to have your horse turned out during the day and in during the night. The horse would be fed breakfast and dinner in the stall, while lunch would be outside. Your horse will be turned out with other horses in the pasture. Another option is for your horse to only be turned out for exercise. This is for our show competitors who don't want horses to become bleached out or nicked up. Your horse will be turned out into the arena by itself for a limited time. All meals will be eaten in the stall. If you wish your horse's stall to be cleaned more than once a day you may pay for extra stall cleanings. Cost: $382/per horse- per stall |
